With studios in the Mojave Desert, the San Bernardino Mountains, and the Baja Peninsula, Allen Robison Barter strives to capture the arid image that is the focus of his artistic vision. Traveling abandoned back roads, Allen collects rustic discards and weathered objects, melds them with a variety of new and unusual materials, unveiling his interpretation of the human figure. Choosing his palette from the desert, Allen works with earth tones, occasionally incorporating the azure of the Sea of Cortez and the celadon of the pinon pine. Influenced by his studies in Florence, Italy, Allen has added a classical aspect to his expressionistic nude mixed media explorations.
